Living in Asia

We sure are going to miss Dalian when we finally have to head back to the states.  We've learned so much thus far and made wonderful friends from all over the world.  

In this post we just wanted to post random pictures of Dalain.

Deberas que vamos ha extrañar Dalian cuando tengamos que regresarnos.  Hemos aprendido mucho y tenemos amigos de todas partes del mundo.

En esta pagina nomas queremos compartir fotos de Dalian.

On a nice day we like to go bike riding around the area.  The only bad thing is we have to be extra careful with the cars around us.  Crossing the streets are a little bit tricky with bikes.  

ST: En un dia bueno nos gusta pasiarnos en bicicleta.  Lo unico malo de la idea es que uno tiene que tener mucho cuidado con los carros. 

ST: En el verano venden batatas ( papas dulces) que son bien ricas.

This is called UFO Mountain, we like taking our bikes up to the top or hiking.  It's a really popular area close to our house.  

ST: Aqui se llama Montaña UFO, nos gusta montar la bicicleta asta arriba ho caminar.  Es un aria muy popular que esta muy cerca de la casa.

This is very common in China for people to wear face masks. / Esto es muy comun en China jente con mascaras.

This guy was asleep right by a major street./ Este señor estaba dormido cerca de la calle principal. 

The gym that I attend to asked if I could help them with one of their advertisements.  It was really fun :).

ST: El gimnasio donde voy me preguntaron si queria alludarlos con un anuncio commercial.  Fue divertido :). 

Popular market in downtown.  We love this place everything is SUPER cheap!!  They sell everything here, each floor it's something different.  When it comes to clothes, it's not always the best quality so we stay away that but we do like buying traditional Chinese souvenirs.  

ST: Mercado muy popular en el centro.  Nos encanta esta tienda todo esta bien barato!!  Venden todo aqui, cada piso es algo nuevo.  La ropa no es la mejor calidad so no compramos ropa alli pero si nos gusta comprar recuerdos de China tradicionales.

Living abroad is such an opportunity to try new things.  I (Maria) started taking Chinese painting classes and I really enjoy it.  It is very exciting to learn something new.  As they say "practice makes perfect", so I try to doodle at home sometimes to get better before leaving China.  :)  

Spanish Translation (ST) : Viviendo en otro paiz es una gran opurtunidad  para aprender algo nuevo.  Yo (Maria) empese una clase de pintura China.  Es divertido empesar algo nuevo.  Como dice el dicho, "practicando se perfecciona", so he tratado de aser algunas pinturas en casa para mejorar antes de mudarnos de China. :)

My first class./ Mi primera clase.

At first I said " Oh that looks easy, I can do that with my eyes closed".  But it's actually harder than it looks, there is a certain way to hold the brush, it's a lot like drawing Chinese Characters.  If you've ever seen people draw characters on TV, it takes a special skill.  You can't see it on the picture but I was sweating drawing the pedals for the flower. lol :)

ST: Primero dije " Oh si yo puedo hacer eso, que facil".  Pero es mas dificil de lo que pensaba, se mira facil pero tiene su chiste.  Ay una manera especial de cojer la brocha, la tactica es mucho como dibujar simbulos Chinos.  Si han mirado en la television, no todos tienen esa habilidad de pintar simbulos Chinos.  Ay donde me ven estaba sudando a chorro tratando de pintar las hojas de la flor. jeje :)
