Going to the zoo in China is quite an experience. Some people love it and others leave scratching their heads. As for us, it was a mixture of both. We did see some really cool things that we wouldn't normally see in the USA. Like feeding live chickens to lions!
Yes! We fed a live chicken to lions. You pay about 100RMB ($14 US) for the chicken and throw it down to the lions. As sad as it was to see the chicken cluck his last cluck, it was freaken cool to watch! lol
We also saw things that we didn't agree with, like the living conditions that some of the animals are in. It's cruel and inconsiderate to place a full size bear in a small area and leave it rolling around in it's own feces.
But that's China for ya.
They had an elephant show that blew our minds away. Damn elephants are really smart.
These guys were fun. They're just roaming the park waiting for people to feed them.
No reason for this picture other than, cuteness!
Arturo getting ready to feed the hungry lions.
These are the hungry lions.
Mmmm he's ready for the feast!
We've never seen tigers this close before so we were excited, even though they were just cubs.
Arturo wanted to touch one but there was a lady keeping on eye on him .
Uhm? What's wrong with this picture? Only in China you will find lap dogs at a zoo and be categorized under the Wild Animals Section.
